Ongoing Lab Projects

Music, Mindfulness, and Me (The M3 Project)
This study explores how personally meaningful songs are connected to different events in young people's life story and identity development.
For this project, we incorporate narrative identity approaches and consensual qualitative research (CQR) to explore emerging themes surrounding the relationship between music and identity across the lifespan.

The Sleep and Cognition Study (SACS)
This study explores how sleep, mental health, and neighborhood contexts are realted to cognitive performance among U.S. adults.
For this project, we incorporate correlational analyses to examine concurrent relationships between health behaviors, social stressors, and cognitive outcomes using tasks such as the Stroop task, Digit Span test, Tower of Hanoi, and the Alternative Uses Task.

The Kapwa Project
This study explores the experiences of Filipino American college students reflecting on their Filipino identity and their cultural identification with other U.S. ethnic/racial groups.
For this project, we incorporate thematic analyses to explore common themes about how and why Filipino American youth negotiate an authentic Filipino identity and whether these experiences are related to cross-cultural solidarity.

The Peers, Perspectives, and Psychological Processing (The P4 Project)
This study explores the relationship between peer contexts, ideological and sociopolitical attitudes, and coping in response to social stressors.
For this project, we incorporate survey and focus group data from specific groups (i.e., transfer students, commuters, underrepresented students) to capture unique and diverse experiences related to navigating stress from the college transition.
